Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Program for Torture Victims (PTV). Volunteers can make a meaningful difference at PTV and for the clients we serve by contributing their professional skills, helping with daily administrative tasks, organizing food and clothing drives, or assisting with events. For additional ways you can give back to PTV and our clients, please click here.

If you are a local student and looking for volunteer hours for school credit, please email  volunteer@ptvla.org to check space availability. Due to staff capacity constraints, PTV can only accept a very limited number of student volunteers each semester.

Volunteer Positions

Food Drive Coordinator

Most of our clients cannot get work authorization for the first 9 months in the United States due to a significant backlog of asylum cases. PTV’s food bank provides emergency food and toiletries for our clients that have little or no income. Our food bank does not receive government subsidies, therefore it is completely driven by the generosity of the community. PTV is looking for a part-time volunteer to help identify and coordinate food drives in and around the Los Angeles area. For more information, please email volunteer@ptvla.org
